About us
Formwerk is an owner-managed planning and architecture office in Berlin — 18 colleagues from architecture, structural design and site supervision under one roof.
Who we are
For more than 25 years we have been planning residential and commercial buildings, schools and refurbishment projects. What sets us apart from pure design studios: we stay on board until handover — with our own site supervision and structural design, short paths and one point of contact per project.
We believe good architecture is not a luxury but the result of solid craftsmanship: listening, planning precisely, budgeting honestly and being present on site. That is how buildings emerge that serve their users — and budgets that hold.
What we stand for

We estimate realistically instead of window-dressing — and flag deviations immediately, not in the final invoice.
Building in existing contexts
The embodied energy of a building is too valuable for the wrecking ball. Conversion before new construction, wherever it holds.
